How My Life Was Saved

   Posted by: Alon   in Blog

Shalom everyone,

I want to share with you what happened to me on Wednesday night.

The short story is that on Wednesday night my life was saved. I got as close as humanly possible to a high speed car collision, and at the very last milisecond I was saved and got out of the situation without a scratch on me.

Some of you may know the feeling that after something shocking or deeply disturbing happens to you, you want to immediately tell it to a close
confidant like a spouse or a family member and get it off your chest. Talking through what happened and in many cases helps to find some relief. Well I did just that on Wednesday, I told my father and later my girlfriend, but I was not at all relieved from the somewhat shocked state I was in. It kept my up at night, and when I was up I felt a need to share it with you guys. I feel that this experience is related to the work I’m doing on Tweet Your Prayers, which couldn’t exist, of course – without you.

As I said, I came as closest as possible to a potentially fatal car accident. I was driving back from university at about 90 km/h (roughly 60 mph) when a reckless driver left a gas station on the side of the road and burst into the middle lane without looking. She did that just as I was approaching, so I instinctly hit the horn and hit the breaks. Both with great force. I think that she was shocked or dazzled with what was happening and the mistake she made, so she didn’t react at first. My car has a long stopping distance, so even though I hit the breaks as hard as I could, I got really really close to her rear end really really fast. I hit the breaks but still wasn’t slowing down fast enough. I was completly helpless (not a very pleasant feeling, to say the least), I couldn’t escape to the left or to the right, and also feared the car behind me would hit me from the back. I remember a thought ran through my head that this is a life changing moment, and nothing will be the same afterwards, because I’m definetly going to crash and either die or be severely injured. I got literally inches away from her car’s rear, and at the very last moment shed came to her senses, and she hit the gas and was able to get far away and swerve. It couldn’t have gotten any closer than that. I was saved.

I was pretty much in a state of shock afterwards. Many thoughts and feelings. I don’t think someone can get as close as possible to a high speed collision and be saved at the very last moment just like that. I think there’s something bigger behind it.

Many people, including my own parents, didn’t understand why I started Tweet Your Prayers, why I am working so hard to help complete strangers
whom I’ll never meet or know. I’ll tell you the truth – it’s very time and energy consuming. VERY.

I THINK THAT BEING SAVED IS WHAT I GOT FOR MY HARD WORK.

Obviously when I started TweetYourPrayers a few months ago, I couldn’t have known that one day I’ll be in such a situation on the road. But I did it regardless, because I wanted to help people. And now I’m still here. I don’t have one scratch on me. Just think about it, it’s mind boggling. It’s hard to comprehend. I’M ALIVE.

Baruch Hashem. I’m glad you were saved, but it’s also important to remember that she (the other driver) was saved, too. Two lives.

Wow… Thank Him you’re all right!!!

It’s great you can tell about this, you could think of this episode as a way in which God used you as an instrument to communicate to everyone who is twitting him through you. You are a messenger!

This is more than a miracle 🙂 I’m really happy you’re ok!

Alon – Praise God that he preserved your life so that you may continue on with your mission with The Kotel. You know God’s mission for your life because he will also give you a passion to want to do it. Do you see how much your heavenly Father loves you? You are so precious to him and your mission is uniquely yours. Perhaps angels stood between your car and hers. I am so glad for your confirmation.

it’s amazing how sometimes it is perfectly obvious that God does intervene when we need it, and humbling to learn it’s not always when we want it. Sending a comforting hug your way…

Dear Alon,
I just got through reading about your near-fatal-accident and the VERY fortunate fact that not only you are with the living but that you didn’t even suffer a scratch.
I AM IN SHOCK !! What would we do without you and your-I truly believe sanctified-commitment to place people’s prayers at the Temple Wall?Who would take your place?

There are not only physical wars going on but also spiritual wars and it seems to me that some evil does not want you to continue doing what you do.
But G-d has guardian angels for HIS people,so you can rest assured that whatever you do,whatever happens to you:G-d’s and only HIS WILL will be done.

And never mind that you don’t know the people requesting their prayers to be placed at the Holy Wall:It is enough that G-D knows them, isn’t it?
I don’t mean to lecture or preach to you-it’s only that my heart is filled with joy and gratitude that you are saved, safe and alive!

Greetings and best wishes from Sarah Bee

great that nobody gets hurt.
but I don’t think it is because of the work you did in the past. It is because there are things that wait for you in the future!
In my opinion it was not god that saved you.But he is the spirit that gives us hope and strength in times we are in need.
Continue that great work you do and there will be much more moments that will show you how much you grow on that.

greets from germany

B”H you are alright, no doubt the almighty saved you. Thank you for all the good work you do. I asked for your help in posting a prayer for a newborn premature baby girl who had a birth defect and went into surgery, and the L-rd heard us, she is fine today!

Thank you for all that you do. G-d continually blesses you. You have only to stay out of your own way for the bounty and joy that is already yours to come to you. Consider this a reminder.

Alon – WOW! I am so glad that you are all right. It must be a shock to the entire system – but there is a higher power that is watching over you. Now don’t take that as an excuse to go bungee jumping without a cable OK? But be thankful and continue your good work. (And folks – as you realize how fragile life is – please contribute so Alon can get his brakes fixed and continue this good work OK?)

I believe in God and I believe in miracles. That occurrence in your life changed you, the woman in that car, your family & friends, the people who witnessed the near accident, and the people who follow you.

The Lord watches over all of us. He loves all of us. You are a special person and my prayer for you is that God continues to bless you and your family.

Thank you for reminding us that each moment of life is precious.

May you be blessed in all you do.

I believe you were saved because our Father is not done using you as his messenger. Look how much The Kotel has grown. There is such a need in this world at the moment with all the wars, hate, and suffering that is going on and you offer a glimmer of hope to people who otherwise would have none. You are truly a servant of our Father and doing His will and thus it was not your time yet…there is still much work to be done by you for Him. God Bless you Alon and I’ll be remembering you in my prayers and Praising God for you. Shalom.

I agree, it has to do with the wonderful work that you do. You are truly blessed and G-d is looking out for you. Plus, so many people in return for your work keep you in their thoughts in prayers too. That probably adds up to a whole ton of thoughts and prayers! 🙂

We are so happy and relieved that you are alright. Its a very scary and upsetting thing to experience close call accidents and often gives one so much gratitude to be alive each day. Your guides and angels were there to protect you and to awaken her to move. Jesus who speaks through Gregory wants you to know that “You are blessed and that kindness and caring give back the same many times over.” You are an amazing man, thank you.
With love Gregory and Shelina

Baruch Hashem that you are safe. But I need to ask the question. Why were you speeding at the time? Maybe if you driving at a reasonable speed the situation could have been avoided. Please remember that speed kills. We have a serious problem here in South Africa with speed.

Alon, I’ve just finished reading your post of your near death experience……I just lost someone, a very dear soul, through a car accident this Oct. 23, 2009, and to read of your experience brings up all those emotions of pain and loss once again……I know there is perfection in all things, even with this, and so I hold onto this truth as I search for its message to me. There may be many things being highlighted here for you through this experience, so keep your heart and mind open to receive these gifts. I am very happy that you have not left this plain of reality as yet, for I too believe that your purpose here through this charge that you have chosen is a precious, Divine service and gift for so, so many, including yourself. This vehicle of service provides so much more than what any one person would imagine in and through its structure, for its varied dimensions reach such broad, expansive, yet intricate energetic vibrational shifts throughout all consciousness. So, your role is a very vital one within the whole context of it. May your heart and mind continue to be open to the guidance and love that steers your path. I send you Blessings of Peace, Love and Light, Alon.
